About Me

My name is Austin Brammer, and I am an acrylic fluid artist from Indiana. I have been doing fluid art for the past four years. Originating as a form of therapy for myself, I have grown so much from it, and learned so much about the process in that time It is truly a passion of mine, and I am always experimenting with new ideas and execution. Everything I create has a part of my heart in it, and my desire to experiement. Art has become a way to help me achieve my goal of inspiration, and inner peace within not only myself, but others close and far.

Art as Therapy: My Story

There are many places in society where art fits, and equally as many in our individual lives. One of those is a place of personal recovery. In April of 2020, I was involved in a motorvehicle accident which resulted in an incomplete T6 Spinal Cord Injury, leaving me unable to walk, and wheelchair bound. With physical and occupational rehabilitation assisting me with acclimating to my new daily life, I often struggled with many negative thoughts, and dark places in my mind. On my birthday that year, my parents gave me a large Fluid Art set to try out. I instantly fell in love with the thereapeutic process of mixing paints and mediums, getting to choose your own unique look as well as style each time, and the unique abstract design that would follow. This became a passionate, life-saving hobby for me when I needed it most, and has become something I hold dear to my heart that I love sharing with others.
